Police investigating yesterday’s shootout in Jersey City, New Jersey now believe that the gunmen may have specifically targeted the kosher grocery store where three people were killed.
The scene of the shooting was initially believed to have been chosen at random, but Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop says it was a “targeted” attack. The standoff, which lasted several hours, left six people dead, including a police officer and the two suspects.
The shootout began at a cemetery just after noon, where Detective Joseph Seals was fatally shot. The suspects then fled in a stolen van and drove to the grocery store where they killed three civilians and exchanged gunfire with police. (NBC News)
