Former NBA great Dennis Rodman was formally charged with battery yesterday for allegedly slapping a man in the face at a Florida bar back in May.
Rodman, who has pleaded not guilty to the charge, was celebrating his 58th birthday with friends when he got into an altercation with a man who claims the troubled hoops star slapped him twice with an open hand. The unidentified man says he suffered swelling in his face and filed a police report two days later.
If convicted, Rodman could face up to a year in jail. (NBC News)
Hot Takes:
- May was a rough month for Rodman. He was also accused of stealing $500 worth of clothes from a store.
- He’s never been able to stay out of trouble.
- One thing which may save Rodman is that the officer who took the police report saw no evidence of swelling in the man’s face.
