In a Burlington, Vermont courtroom yesterday, 38-year-old Steven Bourgoin was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for killing five teenagers when he drove 90 miles an hour the wrong way on a freeway in 2016.
He was convicted in May of five counts of second-degree murder and argued throughout the legal proceedings that he was insane at the time of the tragedy.
That legal approach didn’t help — he is the first person to be convicted in Vermont of a quintuple murder. (NECN)
