’90s nostalgia is in full effect with a reboot of one of the decade’s hottest fashion brands.
Forever 21 teased a Baby Phat revival, with a picture of a pink pager with the words “TXT me back, XOXO, K.L.S
.” Those last three letters are initials of founder Kimora Lee Simmons, who helped
take the brand global in the late ‘90s and early 2000s. Another post by the retailer teased, “The cat is back,” referencing the brand’s bedazzled cat logo.
Today, an official Baby Phat Instagram posted a video that looks like a throwback, with Kimora and daughters showing off the new line in a roller rink with a whole lot of lip gloss. Another post states that the wait is over, and you can now buy the new collection at Forever 21.
Hot Takes:
- It’s not just the video that’s a family affair. Kimora said in March she bought her brand back with intentions of running it as a family business with her teenage daughters.
- What’s next — Ecko?
- Her kids were still in diapers back when Baby Phat was popping.
